Hello, I am trying to track down the Vedmore family from Much Dewchurch.Amos was born in 1849ish and appears in the 1851 Census then disappears. As does Henry, born around the same time.I can't find weddings or deaths. They don't appear in any further Censuses.I have tried using variants and ships lists and deportations and the archives sites and emigration and anything else that i can think but still no luck....has anybody else got any ideas..PLEASE!

Hello,
How about this...transcribed as VEDMON but looks like VEDMORE to me...
1861 RG9/1816 f.61 p.9 much Dewchurch, Hereford
Old Lowe
Amos VEDMORE Serv Unm 12 WAgon boy Hereford M.Dewchurch
He's in the household of James MANSELL.
I can't find Henry in 1861, but I can't see him with the family in 1851, do you know his DOB?

A big Thank You to both of you..I was sure a different set of eyes might spot something. Shame on me for missing that on the IGI-although i had mistakenly thought that Henry was the eldest and was'nt expecting to find the marriage quite that early. I don't know about the Peterchurch link as yet.It may be something to do with all these new siblings that have now been discovered!

I suspect Harriet will be a grandchild of John and Harriet named after her Grannie ! here age makes her too young to be the daughter, so prgeny of one of the sons perhaps ?
Worth trying the deaths for Venmore to see if any of the children died in infancy. In 1851 there is John head aged 60 Harriett aged 46 William aged 21 Harriet 6 Amos 2
