researching my g.g.g.g.g.grandparents edward merrick 1765 herefordshire who married mary nicholls 1767 bridge sollars,herefordshire....i have their childrens names,but would like their parents names if possible...regards....allan

Did Edward marry twice
1 to Mary Nicholls of Bridge Sollars in 1785
2 to Mary Gilbert widow of Clodock in 1805 ??

hi ebn...edward to my knowledge,and mary nicolls must have married about 1783....children as follows....edward 1884..john 1787..mary 1788..eleanor 1790..simon 1792..elizabeth 1794..james 1796..thomas 1798.............the youngest,thomas married ann(unknown)..this is my line until marianne merrick born 1852, married my g.g.g..grandfather daniel oakes 1849 (little neston,cheshire)..they moved to garston,liverpool.....all the merricks originate from norton canon,herefordshire.........until edward merrick 1828 moved to ocle pychard,herefordshire and married ann taylor......pretty certain mary nicolls was mother to edwards 8 children,but always open to any skeletons in the cupboard....regards...allan

Have you checked the Clodock Registers to confirm the wedding and see if Mary N did in fact die. ?
Sorry I notice on the IGI it is 1783, not 85 as I put, but the bride is down and Nicholls. The IGI batch numbers for Clodock show both marriages, but obviously only the death of Mary N can provide the proof it is your Edward.

Is this a marraige for Thomas ?
Thomas Merrick married Ann Phillips at Norton Canon 15/4/1823 ??
I am certain I have looked at theis family before in the last few months..............

thanks ebn...any idea who for??....marianne merrick came to liverpool in 1860`s,but not sure if she came alone or with her parents...marianne married daniel oakes......massive,massive oakes family,but merricks seemed to have disappeared 1860`s...especially william merrick born 1855...could have gone abroard...regards...allan oakes
