The Ironworks at Bishop's Wood
« on: Sunday 23 April 06 19:51 BST (UK) »

Hi,
Does anyone know where to find information about the Ironworks at Bishop's Wood as i believe one of my ancesters, Thomas Huzzey, was working there around 1825.

      Any help would be great.

              Many Thanks, Paul. Smiley

Is this Bishopswood in Walford near Ross on Wye ?

Try the parish website on www.walford-pc.org.uk

A Thomas Hussey married Hannah Louisa Bevan at Walford on 23/6/1821 - is this him ?

This is very close to the Gloucestershire  border and Ruradean in the Forest of dean. The ironworks straddled the boundary and you may find it useful to also post on the Gloucestershire board too.

I cannot find him on the 1851 Herefordshire census, have you found him then ?
