What Regiments

Hi
I have discovered my Gr Gr Grandad was a soldier stationed in Berwickshire when he got married in 1813. (Although he married in Ayrshire)

Can anyone tell me what regiments were stationed there during 1813.

I don't know about regiments in Berwickshire apart from the Berwickshire Militia, but I have come across mention of some regiments about 1813 in the town of Berwick. They are the 2nd Battalion of the 25th Regiment of Foot (later the King's Own Borderers): the 1st Battalion of Royal Scots ( the Lothian Regiment) and the 4th Battalion of Royals. Members of these regiments all had children baptised in the town of Berwick about 1812 to 1815.

Thanks for the info. I am actually trying to trace the parents of this
elusive James Reid, I don't really know where he was actually born whether it be Ayrshire or Renfrewshire.

I went up to Edinburgh the weekend to NRH but that is the only info I got was that he was a soldier in Berwickshire.(frustrated or what)
