Hi,
I am looking for information please about the parents, siblings and children of the William Rossiter who married Jane Faithfull on May 13th 1841 at St Thomas, Winchester.
I know that they had at least one child, William Henry Rossiter, born 1843 in Winchester.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
Best wishes

Hi Casalguidi,
Many thanks for that. Do you have access to the 1851 Census please as I need to get a birth place for William please? Also need to find out if William and Jane had any more children. Thanks again.
Best wishes

Don't know whether this is relevant, but an 8 yr old Henry Rossiter (transcriber obviously thought he was age 3, but looks clearly like 8 to me) born Houghton was living in Houghton Drayton as nephew of James (27) and Mary A. (30) Ray, born Mitchelmarch and Bossington (?) respectively, in 1851. A Charles Faithful and family are on the same page: HO107/1672 folio 205 page 3.

Hi Everybody,
Many thanks for your contributions. It looks like William ( Jane's Husband) died between 1841 and probably 1850 when Jane married William Whatmore.
William did have a son born 1843 in Houghton so we are on the right track. Looks like James with wife Mary Ann was William's ( Jane's husband) brother.
The two baptisms listed by Little Nell are new to me and are thus a case for further investigation.
Just wondered if in the 1841 census there are any other Rossiters living in Winchester, who might be James & William's parents?
Best wishes

Hi Nell,
Thanks for that.
Richard and Hannah had at least three children ( Sarah born circa 1816 , William as listed by you circa 1819 and Martha circa 1821) but I can't find any information about Richard and Hannah themselves. All the children were born in Bentworth. Can't seem to find a marriage record for Richard & Hannah either.
I'm still looking for the other William you listed ( William & Mary Ann's son) as it's likely they are all related.
Bank holiday weekend has started well here in sunny South Manchester, with sunlight streaming into my computer room.
Hope the Bank Holiday goes well for you too!!
Best wishes
