Hi,
I'm looking for information about the parents of Frances Cordelia Rossiter christened October 3rd 1817 in Compton-Abbas, Dorset.
I believe that her father was Joseph Rossiter who married Lucy Burdon or Burden on December 9th 1816 in Berwick St. John in Wiltshire, but have yet to confirm this.
At the time of the Census she will be about 24. As well of details of her parents I am trying to find out if she had any brothers and sisters.
Frances married Silas Maidment on December 5th 1837 at St Thomas's Church, Melbury Abbas and he couple lived in Cann.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.TIA.

Hi rcuser,
Have you checked out the Dorset OPC site: http://www.dorset-opc.com/
I found these people there, but it seems to be more a confirmation of what you have., althogh Samuel Frederick seems to be new:
Compton Abbas Baptisms 1813-1837
1817; 03-Oct; Frances Cordelia; Joseph & Lucy; ROSSITER; cordwainer 1819; 02-May; Samuel Frederick; Joseph & Lucy; ROSSITER; cordwainer
Also found: Parish of Cann MARRIAGES 1813 - 1875
1822; -; Sophia; Burden; ; single; Compton Abbas; ; ; Joseph [I] Rossiter; but the date doesn't really fit !
and: Parish of Cann BAPTISMS 1813 - 1875
1838; 04-Feb; Frederic Edward Rossiter son of; Silas & Frances Cordelia; Maidment; labourer; Cann;
The search facility on this site is very good. Hundreds of Rossiters and Maidments, so put in combinations and "search ALL words" and you get all sorts of info.
Hope this helps.
