George Barton (1798-1847) is my GGGgrandfather. I have quite a bit of info about the family including his son George Robert Barton, one of 7 children. GRB married Betsey Shiner and had 8 children of whom George Henry married Mary Ann Peill and had 4 children. Although they all married, only Alice had children, 3, my father and his 2 sisters.
If you would like any more info please let me know.

Emily Simper age 14,is niece of George Barton at Alverstoke she is my gtgdmother born Gt Wishford Wilts.
I have been trying to find out how she fits into the Barton family.
Believe the connection to be the Gardiners.

CORRECTION
After looking carefully at the 1871 image again the name has been mistranscribed.
BURTON and not Barton.
GEORGE BURTON married JANE SHARRATT at Alverstoke reg March 1855.

Aha, so it wasn't 'my' George or his family!
Thought for a minute there that I'd overlooked a whole branch of the tree as no Gardiners or Simpers had appeared before.
All adds to the fun and games of family searches, and, of course, sometimes turns up some real finds in the process.
