My family tree program www.famtreesoftware.com doesn't appear to blot out living persons in my tree-is there a way to edit it?

Hi Cockneyrebel

I don't know this programme but I use Family Tree maker 2005 and have a control under the File list that allows me to 'privatise' my file. This removes dates of living individuals but not their names.

Hope this helps, if not i'm sure someone more knowledgeable will answer.

Have a look at http://www.users.bigpond.com/naibor/rpriv.html its a utility called Res Privata which will work on any Gedcom file (most FH programs will export a gedcom file) .... it filters out what you don't want to publish
