Hi All
Can anyone find a William Button in the 1841 census.
Spouse Elizabeth.
Area of census Sedgefield
Children were Jane Button born 1822
William born 1820
Elizabeth born 1824
Henry born 1816
John born 1818
Robert born 1830
Mary born 1824
Martin born 1828
Unsure of age of William (head) but assume he is around 40 or 50.

Robert Button - 13 - y.
Mary Button - 11- y.
George Button - 7 - y.
Ref: HO107 / 316 / 7 / ED5 / f.18 / 31
As you are doubtless aware, the exact places of birth were not recorded in the 1841 Census, but, unusually for this Census, the enumerator appears to have listed the precise ages of the adults rather than rounding them down, as stipulated, to the next lowest figure divisible by five. So the parents both show up as being 52 in this entry.
