I have a 1861 census Maresfield have a Johnathan and Naomi Stevens. I would dearly like to know if any one can work out where he says he was born. The index says Wildml.. when look at the image could be that or Wildenl.. have no idea what it is. In '51 census, it has Chiltenden Sussex.. cant find.. did find a name close to that in Kent. They have a dau born in Wittersham Kent in 51 census . Sooo if any one has any ideas.. gratefully received !!

There's a Wilderness Wood and a Wilderness Farm fairly nearby (Hadlow Down).
http://theweald.org places his birth in East Chiltington. I noticed there is an extracted baptism record on the IGI for a Jonathon Stevens (parents Jno. Stevens and Ruth) in 1796 in Wivelsfield, which is not too far from East Chiltington.

Thanks Andrea for your thoughts and help. I have high hopes with the extra input I maybe able to find their marriage.
I found in my notes another Stevens in Hadlow Downs. So with yours and Dimps help.. maybe......
A marr. in Kent is a great thought.
