Look up JEREMIAH SHEEHAN of Piltown

Jeremiah Sheehan was a land surveyor. With the famine of 1845 he came to England with my ggrandfather Michael sheehan b. 1840. he gave his place of birth as Piltown and was probably RC. He ended up in Stockport, Cheshire where he married Alice Ramsdale in 1862. I have been searching in Kilkenny and visited Pilltown last year with no results but have recently been informed that records for Piltown (used to be with one L), could possibly be in Waterford. Marriage and birth details are what I'm seeking. Any further information gratefully received. Jim Phelan
