I would be grateful if anyone searching marriage records for portsmouth area would look for marriage of Augustin Dorney to Ellen Spence about 1863/4.

Thanks for the info. I do have the 1881 census CDs

I am clutching at straws by thinking they married in Portsmouth but as Ellen Spence was listed as being born there and 1st son Joseph also I am guessing.
I have searched for a birth for Ellen and Joseph and can't find either.

I am getting multiple bruises banging my head on that proverbial wall

UPDATE

I have found birth of 2nd son, Augustin in S Stoneham.
It has father Augustine Joseph as seaman on HMS Irrisistible and mother Ellen Dorney nee Spence
Is there anyway I can look up Naval records which might give date of marriage?
