I've had a good look round and examined the error again. Eventually I found that when looking at:
Warning: main(themes/standard/theme.php): failed to open stream: No such file or director ...that "themes/standard/theme.php" did not exist, and the "standard" folder was empty. I have since uploaded the contents and managed to get through the configuration, but ending up with several successful setups except one error. I had no more energy that night, so continued next day and found that I could now get in OK.
ONLY PROBLEM NOW IS ..... I have not been given the option to set a phpGEDview user name and password, so cannot log on!
Can anyone assist, please?

Followed suggestions from Gerry of SourceForge, http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3716555 ... and tried for some hours to sort this, both as he suggested and deleting all and reloading, but things just got worse. In the end I downloaded version3.3.8 and tried that, and it worked first time. Wonder whether it was the RootsChat Web site with the version4beta7 that was part of the issue? I shall look again at version4 at a later date, if I've got the energy, but would lie some sort of assurance that it will work.
