BRYSON (BRACEN)/SMITH
« on: Monday 08 May 06 11:49 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to trace any information on the following family.
ANN SMITH born c1811 Bellaisis Virginia Co Cavan
Father  THOMAS SMITH   Mother's maiden name DOBBIN
ANN SMITH married WILLIAM BRYSON (BRACEN) year unknown
WILLIAM died C1849
Children born
JOSEPH c1846
THOMAS c1848     I have a copy of a letter signed by JOHN KING  MINISTER of PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH at BELLASIS, VIRGINIA Co CAVAN
certifying that her two sons by whom she is accompanied are her legitimate children by her late husband Wm BRACEN  dated Oct 7th, 1863.  Ann & her two sons arrived in Sydney, Australia aboard "Ocean Empress" in 1864.
If any one has any connection or information about this family I would be most grateful for any further information.
Thank you, Jan.

hi missy, i too am searching for breslin, it is all to do with translation i think of the surname, hopefully someone reading this will notice alink between their name and yours, surely now that the translation problem has come to light that those with the surname bryson/bracen/breslin will take a good look at their own family history and see if there name has been altered over the years, best of luck pal
