Hi

I have found these entries on the GRO records and I wondered if there was anyway of finding out who their parents were without sending off for their certificates.

The Canks I have found are :-

Millie Cank born 1st quarter 1901 Leicester
Walter Thomas Cank born 3rd quarter 1902 Leicester
Arthur Leonard Cank born 1st quarter 1904 Leicester
George Cank born 1st quarter 1904 Leicester
Elizabeth Nora Cank born 3rd quarter 1908 Leicester
William Edward Cank born 1st quarter 1909 Leicester
Walter E Cank born 3rd quarter 1910 Leicester
Phyllis Cank born 2nd quarter 1911 Leicester

I think Elizabeth Nora and Walter E Cank's parents were William Cank and Beatrice Lily Read.

Can anyone help with this please, or point me in the right direction.

Not sure we will find out for those born after the 1901 census without ordering the cert  Undecided

Hi

My maiden name is Cank and I come from the Cank family that origniated in the Stephenson Drive area of Leicester.

My Great Grandad was George Cank DOB 1904.
He had 6 sons and 1 daughter

Albert
Leslie (my grandad)
Barry
Ray
June

I really do not know much about the older generations of my family, but I think Elizabeth Cank married a Grogan.

I will have a word with my grandma and see if I can find out what my great grandfathers parents names were.
