A Longshot, disappearing PIPERS in 1640's
« on: Wednesday 10 May 06 09:11 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

This is a longshot as I am brickwalled.

I have a Jeremiah and Sarah Piper appearing in Toppesfield Essex by 1645 but no record of them in that locality prior to that.

Has anybody got a disappearing Piper branch about the same time period?

This is as I say a bit of a longshot but as I am off sick at the moment from work (nothing spectacular), I have little to  occupy myself except wondering what I can fill in on my tree.

All the best to all who read this and good luck in your respective searches.

You may already have done this, but maybe look for a Hierimia/Hierimias Piper, as that name is the Latin version of Jeremiah. Familysearch doesnt seem to show anything, apart from the christening of their son, Jeremiah, in 1646.

Thanks for that information, I must admit I didn't know that there was so radical a spelling change, I will definitely now include those variations in future searches.

Thanks again

Jeremiah and Sarah must have come from somewhere, I know the records are getting scarce back then but I really hope to get back another generation or two into the 1590's
