Gordon of Enniskillen
« on: Sunday 14 May 06 02:46 UTC (UK) »

Hi all,

I have Patrick Gordon born about 1824 who married Margaret Brady about 1864 in Enniskillen.  They had moved to Glasgow Scotland by 1886.

Margaret's parents were John Brady and Margaret McNaught, but as I can't find a death registration for Patrick, I cannot trace who his parents may have been.

I would like to trace the Irish heritage of the Gordon family, and would like to also find out where and when Patrick died, as it appears it wasn't in Scotland.  He was a tailor by trade, and was alive in 1891 according to the Scottish census, but had died by 1893 when his daughter Helen married.

Thanks for reading,

Nina

Thanks Audrey,

Yes I had seen those before, and have always been puzzled by them calling one son Francis and another Frank.  I know Francis survived as he married in Sxcotland, but I don't know about Frank.

There was also a daughter Sarah born 1865, a Bartholomew b. 1876 and a Joseph 1879.

Ellen (or Helen)b 1870 is my gg grandmother.

Thanks for taking the time to find that for me.

I finally found Patrick's death in Glasgow 1893.  His name was mis-indexed as Partick  Shocked.

His father was Owen Gordon, mother Rose Murray.
