Address on 1901 census in Sowe
« on: Sunday 14 May 06 22:27 BST (UK) »

Does anyone have any knowledge of a Red Horse Inn or Red House Inn in Sowe Village or Sowe Waste in the early 1900's?

This is an address that appears on a entry in the 1901 census and I'd like to find out more about it.

Many thanks

Lyndsey

Lyndsey,

Do you mean Walsgrave on Sowe, a parish of Coventry?

If so, the nearest pub called the Red House is on the Stoney Stanton Road, perhaps a mile from Walsgrave.

If you do mean Walsgrave on Sowe, here is a site which may help you with your research: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=16018
