I should have been more specific with a name like Robertson!

Looking in particular for Alexander Robertson who Married Susan Bruce or Susan Bruce Downie
Children were :
Possibly William (have not yet proven this) but IGI lists a Wm born to Alexander and Susan
and my 5x Grandad James who was supposedly born in 1856 (although this is some 20 years after they married - confused yet? I am ... I am working off very little info at this end as Great Grandad appears to have been somewhat secretive about his life in Scotland before coming to Aus,
The names James, Alexander and Bruce have been passed down through the generations.
Looking for any kind of hint that may help me find this elusive family - I have so far been unable to even find out when or how he got to Australia.

Hi buzzbyb,

To the memory of Agnes Blackadder wife of William Dunlop who died at Ayton 20.4.1899 aged 71. Also the above William Dunlop 5th son of John Dunlop of Mayfield and farmer there for 37 years who died at Ayton 28.8.1900 aged 83 years. Also Agnes Dunlop their eldest daughter who died Mayfield 26.5.1864 aged 4 years. Also Lilia their youngest daughter and widow of Reverend William Forbes Randebosch died at Claremont Cape Colony May 1924 aged 58 years. Also Jessie May their 2nd daughter died 17.4.1928 aged 66 years. Also Helen Blackadder their 3rd daughter died at Wynberg Cape of Good Hope South Africa 22.5.1930 aged 66 years.

Thats all there is.

Yes there are a few, this is the only William.

In Loving memory of Margaret Hamilton wife of William Jeffrey who died at Fairnieside 20.7.1915 aged 47 years also the above William Jeffrey who died at Berwick 16.6.1939 aged 72 years also John son of the above who was killed in France 1.10.1916 aged 20 years.
