Hi All, Can anyone trace my GGran, Sarah Jane Dainty from Staffs Dudley born about 1858. She married William Chaters from Bishop Auckland, I have the family from then, but I have been trying to trace both Sarah and William further back and find I come up against a brick wall. Thanks in advance Kathy

Dudley at that time was in Worcestershire not Staffordshire. The BIVRI shows many Daintys in Staffordshire and those of Kings Bromley are very promising as there are two 19th C wives called Sarah - names got passed on. However, the BIVRI is far from complete and has a gap from 1851 to 1875. Perhaps this may throw some new light on the matter.

Civil parish: Stoke upon Trent Ecclesiastical parish: St John County/Island: Staffordshire Country: England
Source information: RG10/2874 Registration district: Stoke Upon Trent Sub-registration district: Longton ED, institution, or vessel: 3 Folio: 46 Page: 5 Household schedule number: 3
