Were you looking under the right country? I see you have Edwards in Wales and England, for example. I would suggest that if you want some good reasons you will have to take us into your confidence and say WHO, WHERE, WHEN. Then someone more clever than me will probably tell you the answer.

Well, as far as I know my Grandfather Richard John Edwards was born in Islington in 1885, his Father Richard Edwards was born in Dolgelly (also spelt Dolgellau), Wales, his Mother (I think, not yet confirmed this bit) Rose was born in Faversham, Kent on the 1891 census they were living in Dolgelly. There was a younger brother born about 1887 in Stoke Newington (?). I checked all these places for the official 1901 census and found nothing. I also followed a link from this site for Merionethshire 'Links Merionethshire Local Websites' and found the 1901 census and they were on there. I have a PRO RG number; RG13/5254 and also a folio number 51 but no page number. Which I think I will need to look it up on the 1901 census page. Not sure what to do now!?! nickyhug

Go to the above URL. Enter in the data you have [never mind the page number]. It will use some credits but you will see the piece you want.

That is too complex to investigate right here. You might lose thewill to live whlilst reading it and I may easily die of boredom explaining it. Be content and of good cheer!
