I am asking for this for a friend with no computer looking for this family living
 Mosslee Dunbarton 1881 with a
[school teacher] Danial Mclaren
Albert De sousa/Souza b 1869
James De Sousa b 1866
Charles De Sousa b 1865
all born Trinadad
we believe there could be more De Souza family but I can only find the above in 1881

On the 1881 census, a search for de s* brings up only 14 entries.  The only other entry that comes close to de Sousa and the three other ones you have is:

Candida de Sousa, Angilena, age 20, Paisley Renfrew

Other names are for example De Saurin, De Silva, de Sterne.

Only the three entries that you have already show with a Trinidad birth place.
