My gt gt grandfather being widowed in London headed for the gold fileds in South Africa .He married Annie Maude Cornwell a widow born Miss Butler.
She was widowed again when he got lung disease and died in Matjesfontein in 1890.

Their son DOUGLAS ALEXANDER MACKENZIE born 1899 at Barberton became a bank manager with the Standard Bank and had postings in various towns before settling in Durban where he died aged 63 and 11 months at home in 101 Northway on 7 May 1953.
His widow  Elise Hilda Snowdon   died in Zoutpansberg in Jan 1960.

From his death notice I have found his children and some grandchildren. I'd be delighted to make contact with this family. Douglas visited us about 1930 at Castle Heather ,Inverness if that jogs a memory.

His son HECTOR IAN MACKENZIE had 2 girls Penelope Ann b1947 and Margot Lynn b 1951.

 His dtr MARY FRANCES STUART - Mrs Murray CAMPBELL
had 4 :-
Jane 1947, Elizabeth 1948,Natalie 1950 & Delia 1954.

A son Dr DONALD MACKENZIE of ELIM Hospital North Transvaal had 3 children :-
Graham b1954, Rory b 1956 & Shelagh Ann b 1961.

Finally son KENNETH MONTAGUE MACKENZIE  had a daughter Fiona Stuart b 1954.

We share the same ancestors - I am the daughter of Errington Ross,Inverness and long to meet them.
