I had a look in the British Vital Records to see if I could find the birth of Mary Lyon c1834 in Falkirk but unfortunately none come up.
There were 8 Mary Lyons all born in Scotland beween 1833 - 1838.
There were two from Glasgow, they were:
LYON, Mary Miller
No Date of Birth listed, Christened 27th November 1835
Parents: William LYON and Mary MILLER
LYON, Mary Ann
No Date of Birth listed, Christened 17 Jul 1836
Parents: John LYON and Isabella LESLIE
The others were:
LYON, Mary, born 1833, East Kilbride
Parents: James LYON and Janet WILSON
LYON, Mary, born 1833, Colinton
Parents: Alexander LYON and Agness ECKFORD
LYONS, Mary, born 1833, Dumfries
Parents: Patrick LYONS and Mary DEUCHER
LION, Mary, born 1837, West Kilbride
Parents: Alexander LION and Mary CALDWELL
LYON, Mary, born 1837, Edinburgh
Parents: James Walter LYON and Louisa HART
LYON, Mary Park, born 1838, Eaglesham
Parents: William LYON and Mary MILLAR
Have you tried searching for her on the 1841 Cencus? If not, it may be worthwhile trying Scotland's People (www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk).
