the name has been transcribed as Longtham but could be Longthorn as the writing is a bit of a nightmare.

 Cheesy Hi Bee,
Yes, this is them, I also posted in West Riding of Yorkshire as I was unsure where they were living and I got the same result from SandraC. Many Thanks.

Hi Clive,
Nice to hear from you, yes, we both have the same Mary Longthorn on our Trees, I hadn't any further info on Thomas Carr so thanks for the detail on George. Can you give me any details on Thomas Carr, when he was born, when died and what family he and Mary had etc. also do you know when Mary died?
The Longthorns are my wifes family and her Gr.-Gr.-Grandfather was William Longthorn, Mary's brother. Do you need any info on the Longthorns and/or would you like to check or verify any details? if so just contact me.
Very Kind Regards,

Hi, melm, Thomas and Mary had the following children: John,b1854, Thomas b1856, George b1858, Anne E. b1860, Charlotte b1862, and William b1865(my gt.grandfather). Thomas was aBlacksmith,b1831, d 1892. Mary died 1908. William was aboilermaker, and Charlotte married a John Harrison who was a guess what? yes a boilermaker.I have the Carr family to 1635, but dont have a lot on the Longthorn family, I would be most pleased if you could supply me with information, Was Charlottes maiden name Fletcher?. I was born at Florence terrace Hull, my grandparents lived at Villa Place, I believe Joe Longthorn lived near by, he went to the same school as myself Villa Place but a couple of years later, so I nearly knew someone famous. Best Wishes to you and your family, Clive

 Grin Hi Clive,
                   Mary's siblings:-
Henry born 1823 York - IGI    occ . engine driver - 1851 census, marr. Mary Mcdonald in Hull 1843, 9 children details if req.

George b. 1825-1897 York IGI  occ boilermaker - 1861/71 census, marr. Elizabeth Holdstock Hull 1853, 2 children recorded.

William 1830-1898 b. York - IGI  occ boilermaker - 1851 census, marr. Elizabeth Johnson 1852 Hull, 7 children.

Thomas 1837-1904 b. Hull - IGI  occ boilermaker - 1891 census, marr. Susanne Oliver 1858 Hull, 10 children.

Walter 1841-1873 Hull -  IGI, occ boilermaker - 1871 census, marr. Martha Pylus Greensides, Hull 1870. They had a daughter Elizabeth who was adopted by Martha's brother Arthur sometime between Walter's death in 1873 and her re-marriage in 1874.

Mary's parents were Thomas 1796-1868, boilermaker and Charlotte Fletcher b. Scarboro' 1796-1866, they marr. in York 1821, IGI.

Thomas's father was Peter - IGI, mother unknown, but then on the IGI it gets very confusing as there are several options of Langthorn, longthorne, lengthorn etc which I haven't been able to unravel. Hope this helps in some way, obviously there are many details of the Longthorn family after Mary if you wanted them.
The boilermaker trade was passed down the generations upto the wife's uncle when it filtered out.
You mention your gr-parents lived at Villa Place, ironically the wife tells me that her gr-parents (Beacocks) also lived there. Small world!!
If I can help further, just say.
Kind Regards,
Melm  Cheesy

Hi
I'm trying to trace a Thomas Henry Longthorn who married Elsie Haigh in Leeds in 1944.  At that time they lived on Barleycorn Street, Wortley or maybe it was Holbeck, Leeds.

I think Thomas may have been born in 1922 and Elsie in 1924 but I'm not absolutely sure.

Would be great if any of you could throw any light on this
