BRYAN - Shrewsbury
« on: Sunday 19 September 04 10:53 BST (UK) »

Does anyone have any connections to the following family? :

William BRYAN born about 1856 parents possibly William and Hannah but not sure. All I am certain of is that by 1881 he had moved to Wolverhampton.

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

I did a search on FreeBMD and came across this entry:-

Surname  First name(s)    District  Vol  Page

~~~~~~~~
Births Mar 1850
~~~~~~~~

Bryan  William    Shrewsbury  18 177

Shrewsbury District, Vol No 18, Page 177.

If there's a possiblity that he is the right one then you could order a birth certificate from the GRO.

I did a Shropshire search with the dates ranging from 1850 to 1860 - there were no other Bryan entries.

Hope this helps.

Hi There,

I too am looking for BRYAN's in Shropshire, both in Shrewsbury and Oswestry.
My ancestor JOHN BRYAN (1776 - 1856) moved to Shrewsbury in 1780's to live with relatives after the death of his uncle who brought him up, but I have no other information and would like to get in touch with anyone else who is looking.
JOHN BRYAN's parents (JOHN BRYAN and FRANCES SIMS)moved to OSWESTRY from Wales, died and were buried there in the 1820's. Looking for his occupation in Oswestry, which on his marriage bond in the 1770's stated he was a TAW DRAPER.
