Thought this may help save someone some cash or time.

The film for Applegarth & Sibbaldie parish records is film 813a and is an interesting set of records.

In 1825 there was obviously a new writer or cleric in town with a very methodical approach to records.  May God bless him on behalf of researchers of that parish!

The first page of the new records is transcribed below.  I hope it helps people understand a bit about the available records.




State of parish register of Applegarth at this date March 1825


Baptisms
From September 1694 to April 1715 - Regular
No register from 1715 to 1749
From 1749 to 1777 - Not very regular
From 1777 to 1825 - Quite regular

Marriage
From December 1694 to July 1712 - Regular
No register from 1715 to 1749
From 1749 to 1777 - Very irregular and ineffective only notifying the receipt of proclamation money.
From 1777 quite regular to 1825.

Deaths
No register until 1777 from thence to 1819 quite regular.
From 1819 to 1825 - Quite regular.
