My Grandma Esther (sometimes Easter) was born March 30th 1873 in Newhill, Wath upon Dearne. She married Allan Jackson Vollans on December 25 1896 in the  the Parish Church, Brampton Bierlow and for the rest of her life lived in Wath.

I cannot find her in 1891.

I'm presuming she was in service somewhere as were all the girls before they married.   I can't imagine she moved far from home but I just cannot find her.

There is an Esther Oates in the Southampton area but she's a little older and it's so far away.

Can anyone help?

If you have access to the 1891 census take a look at this one

RG12/3599   Folio 76   Page 3


and put in the following information then take a look at the image as I believe this is her and because of a pen stroke she has been aged greatly


Esther Oates bn 1843 birth place Newhills

And you will find her working as a Dom Servant.
