Winter family « on: Thursday 01 June 06 12:20 BST (UK) »
I have acquired a bible with a very small family tree for the WINTER family, dated 1793-1835. From Holburn but children baptized at St.Mary the Virgin, Oxford. If anyone wants the dates, I can pass them on to you. Father & Mother William and Deborah.
I would be gratefull if you could let me know a few dates as I have been looking for an Ann Winter's bap C1801 for a very long time & feel that any straw is worth clutching now to give me a bit of a clue

Hi Phil I will tell you what there is but no Ann I'm afraid. William Winter m. Deborah Conway [?] 25 July 1793 St Andrews Church, Holborn Children: Elizabeth b. 25 May 1794 Robert Thomas b. 26 May 1795 Catherine b. 16 February 1797
The children were christened at St Mary the Virgin, Oxford
Deborah Winter d. 5 January 1798 William d. December 1817 Robert Thomas d. 7 March 1835 [much lamented]
I am going to check if William was a clergyman as St Mary the Virgin is the university church in Oxford. couldn't be a don as they were not allowed to be married at that time. I suppose William could have married again?
Thanks a lot for being so kind as to look for me but I was clutching at straws as the Winter's I'm researching were coal merchants at Charlbury & before you say it I have already purchased the Charlbury records from OFHS & very good they are as well
