« on: Thursday 01 June 06 13:08 UTC (UK) »

Hi
Inverurie has come up a number of time during my Milne research.
I believe Elizabeth Sherriffs was born there and she married William Milne in 1786. Also William's father George was born and is buried at Premnay, Inverurie as is his wife Jean Smith.
I am still trying to confirm all the above dates etc.
Are there any names that match?
Regards
Gemma

Have you tried Mormon igi as i have found some info there. I know Johns parents were Peter and Jane nee Black and they came from the Longside area. I have no idea if John had any siblings at all. I will keep searching and let you know if i find anything

I had a MargaretPhilip MILNE whomarried my ancestor William Fowler
around the area of your search.
I have to admit I have done virtually no research on Margaret, and I only
know she died in Canada around 1913.
I will look into this and come back to you.

Swampguts,
Have a look at this site - http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/nescotland/index.html

Not sure if it's the same Milne's, but he might be able to help.

Cheers
Jim
