Hello I am very pleased to be able to advise you that the first piece from the 1861 census (covering Ludham RG09/1197) is now available to search free on line. I would like to thank Scott for transcribing, Sonia for checking and Clare for Validating the piece, without their help this information would not be available. If you wish to search the online database please go to http://www.freecen.org.uk <http://www.freecen.org.uk/> and follow the link to search the database, there are also other links which will let you know the coverage for each county for each census year. The amount of Norfolk data is fairly small at the moment but there are many volunteers working hard to increase it. If you would like to help there are 24 1861 pieces still to be allocated for transcription and I would love to hear from you. Please contact Bev at bandys****@worldonline.co.uk ( remove Stars to reply) for further details.
