Not sure whether this should appear in NORTH Riding, but here goes anyway ...
I'm trying to trace the ancestors of Edward Bird, born 1813 (no actual date available) in Easington, Patrington. I know that he married Elizabeth (b. 1824) and in 1851 they were living at 86 Poor Houses, Easington, Patrington, but I can find nothing EARLIER than this.
Any help would be gratefully accepted!

Not sure if this is mine as I'm beginning to think that I'm actually barking up the wrong tree here anyway! I'll do a bit of groundwork and see if any of these fit into my tree, but I think I've gone wrong somewhere.
I know for a fact that Edward and Rosabell Bird from Easington/Patrington are mine. They appear on the Mormons site in the 1881 census with children George Edward, John Christopher, Catherine, Walter E., Ada E., Thomas H. and Miles B Bird. Obviously it's Edward - and his predecessors - that I'm trying to trace back and I think that I've started off on a wrong trail as there are so many Edward Birds born around 1850 in that neck of the woods.

I have edited out all the Birds from 1861 Census with Easington or Patrington birthplaces on which may be a bit large for this format.
