Hi I am looking for my fathers sister or any existing relatives of the above families. Her name is Joan Winifred George born 1922 Luton, Bedfordshire.
My father's name was Duncan William George born1928 Luton, Bedford. I believe that the family were involved in either the Army or Navy.

Family names: George, Fowler, Stewart, Davey.
                     : Bird, Newburry, Stonnell, Gobey.

Is there any way that I can look up recent Census records or Electoral Rolls?

Hi Bronwyn,

I am related to the bird family and have many within my family tree.  My  mother was born a bird;  My Grandfather was Jesse Bird b Rushden, 1887 married Margaret Eveleen Young in Rushden on christmas day 1909, Margaret was born 1884.  Jesse's father was Edward George Bird b 1860 approx who married Elizabeth 1860 approx (who's was also a Bird) in souldrop. Edward's father was George Bird  my gr gr grandfather b 1817 Sharnbrooke, married to Sarah Edwards b 1814 Souldrop.  George birds father was a Thomas Bird b 1790 approx Souldrop married to Frances Langley b 1790 approx Sharnbrooke married in Souldrop 27 may 1812. i have a copy of their marriage certificate.

i am at present trying to discover the whereabouts of a Robert Bird who supposedly married a Hannah ? this could be my gr gr gr gr grandfather and should have a birth date around the mid 1700's  ... if this is any help please email me on

Hi Eileen

My grandmother was Winifred Victoria Bird, born 1898, Luton. She had a twin brother Albert, as well as Henry,Walter,Sydneyand sisters Annie, Florrie, Mabel and a few others. Winifreds father was Walter David Bird, born in Leagrave. His father was David Bird, Leagrave. Do you know if we have a connection?

Sorry I dont think we have a match I have not found any of my family from those areas as of yet.  Also the only name that fits is Florrie.  will get bak if i find out more.  thanks for replying.  eileen
