Bushnell b. 1816 Reading

Hi there,  can anyone help me find g g g grandfather James Bushnell.  According to 1851 census he was b. 1809 in Reading.  1861 has him b. 1806 Wickchurch, Oxon (I presume this should be Whitchurch).  1871 says Reading 1816. 1881 has him as a widower b. Reading 1816.

The only consistent thing is his wife Ann (b. Brighton c. 1821).  I've been to FHC in Reading, no luck there.  Without this info on James I can't get back any further.
