many thanks for all of latest info ...it was Carrie as we were aware that they emigrated to Canada . we still do not know who the father was of both Minnie and Arthur as they both were illegitimate !!Minnie had a strange third Christian name of Offen and have often wondered if it was associated with her biological father ??
Any details you mentioned would be most welcome !

hello acky

At the Knoll, Sherington, Bucks is

Owen Oldham, head, age 59 born Moulsoe, Bucks
Fanny Scanwell  Oldham, wife, age 57 born Sherington
George Simco ? looks like Vince ? Oldham, son, age 27 born Sherington
Carrie Louise Cole, niece, age 25, born Sherington

They all seem to be working as Mineral Water makers

see this site http://www.mkheritage.co.uk/shhs/kelly1895.htm  it lists
   Oldham & Co, non-intoxicating ale-brewers
   Oldham Owen, baker

Also have you marriage of Minnie Elizabeth O Gough in Ampthill in June 1889 to a Richard Ping, living in Cranfield on 1891 census.

Again if you want details let me know

Regards John

Hi john ,one of the things I find amazing in checking the family is how they moved about, the Goffs came from Ketton rutlandshire how in earth did they get to Cranfield Beds,no trains ,buses, cars .must have been some tough devils in those days.  ACKY
