I to have Bookless and Cochrane in my 'tree'. Originally they were in Biggar but moved into Peeblesshire.
Christina Bookless and David Cochrane
George Cochrane and Margaret Turnbull.
Could these be some of your family also?

Thanks for your reply. David Cochrane and Christian Bookless, married in Dunbar in 1811, were my GGG Grandparents. Their son, Christopher (born in Biggar), who married, Margaret Grieve, were my GG Grandparents and their daughter, Elisabeth Cochrane, who married Thomas Reidie Seath, were my G Grandparents.

Hi Maggie,
Say hello to your 'cousin'. My 4 g grandparents were David and Christina m Dunbar 1811. George Cochrane their son m Margaret Turnbull (my 3 g grandparents) whose daughter Isabella married Thomas Borthwick (my 2 g grandparents).
I don't have anything definate further back on that part of my family but I think I know who Davids parents were just needs a bit more investigating. I only had 3 children for David/Christina. George, Alison and Thomas.
I have no death for Christina but am thinking perhaps the David I found dying in The Royal Infirmary (usual residence City Poorhouse) may be ours. Have you any details on him. I have the death cert for my George and also one for his brother Thomas. Thomas was born in Leith but my George was born in Biggar Lanark. I did not know that there had been a Christopher. Perhaps we could get in touch.
By the way I am a female Terry!!
