Beauty fades, dumb is forever

Back on the Wagon
« on: Sunday 11 June 06 12:58 BST (UK) »

and I'm stuck already.

Been ages since I've delved into the ol' achives - but I'm feeling better now and I'm back at work so have decided to roll up my sleeves and start rummaging through my husbands family history too.

Unfortunately that brick wall has reared it's ugly head again and I'm not sure what to try next, can anyone offer me some pointers.

Peters dads parents were:-

James and Jeanie Burns (MS. Candlin) Hyslop - married 28th Dec 1917 at 2 Union Street, Clydebank.

I'm stuck with

James parents, who were - Thomas Hyslop, coalminer (deceased) and Sarah (MS Bonar, also deceased).

I can't find any death certs, marriage info, census info nothing, not even James's birth cert!!!

It's lovely to be back amongst you all by the way - hope you have all been successful in you own searches  Smiley
