George Watkins b. April 8 1842. Father George Watkins. Mother Mary nee Bennett. Can anyone find a marriage for George Jnr please? There are quite a few in the Hereford district, so, apart from getting all the certs how can I find the right one?

Thanks, Tanja. I spotted that one an hour or so back and didn't have a chance to check it out. Ialso saw the marriage on IGI. I've got an envelope ready to go Hereford RO so I might take a punt on that! Isn't he the one who's a constable? If so that might be a clue in another section of the family puzzle.

Pulling a long shot here......... I wonder if that Mary Ann is the one who is living at 3 Mardy Street Rhymney in the1891? My great grandad John James Watkins is at that address. George Watkins Jnr would have been his half brother, I think, so Mary Ann would be his neice?

Did you see the Sept 1864 marriage for George Watkins and Mary Smith? That's George Jnr's Dad!

Lots of Watkins marriages show up on IGI in Holmer including George and Juliana, 15/10/1868.
Also a George marrying Ellen Roberts in 1831 , a coincidence or did George number 1 have 3 wives  ?

Think that's coincidence. on the 1861 my George is age 22. Not very helpful, though is it? Just too many George and Mary's!!

I was wondering if I could get some info from some sort of police records. I'll have to find out how to go about that, luckily there's a policeman in the family in Hereford, so he should know how to do it.

EBN, I've just had another look! you could be right! On the 1851 George Snr is 37, so it is possible.... how can I find out if it's the same one, as it's pre 1837?
