1861 Census - William Askham
« on: Wednesday 14 June 06 21:28 BST (UK) »

Hello  Smiley,
I am looking for William Henry Askham b. c1844.  He was born in either Peterbrough or London.
He was married in 1866 London.
His father was William Askham and he was a baker.
I would like to find his father too.
Sorry, but that is about all I know about them.

Regards,
Inchworm

Hi,
i managed to find a William Askham born abt 1841 in Peterborough on the 61. Mary Ann is the head of the household, she was born in 1814 also in Peterborough.
If you think this is the right family let me know and i will check the return for more info.

His father may have been working away, he was a baker. They may all be together on the 1851.
If I could have the details, it is worth checking out.

Many thanks for that. I wonder if he was related to this family. Could he be with the same family in 1861 perhaps?

matilda and thomas carter are living alone in 1861 sorry.
have found them in 1841 also but doesnt give any clues as to whether they were related to the askhams unless of course matilda's maiden name was askham.
here they are in 1841-
living in st marylebone
thomas carter 35yrs tailor born in county
matilda 35yrs born in county
walter 8yrs not born in county
emily 1yr born in county
