Sturton Cum Fenton

Could someone tell me if Sturton Cum Fenton is near Worksop in Nottingham.  My ggrandfather William Johnson gives his birthplace in 1836 as Worksop, Nottingham, also on his marriage certificate his father is also recorded as William.  The only William Johnson I can find with a father William is a birth that took place at Sturton Cum Fenton.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dorothy, the Genuki pages give pretty good geographical information for Notts. Here is the link to Sturton le Steeple parish (which includes the hamlet of Fenton)

Sadly there is also a burial recorded on the Notts FHS transcriptions which suggests this is not your William...

William Johnson buried Sturton le Steeple 01/02/1840 age 3, son of William and Elizabeth
