Me and Him

How interesting to come across this name.
When my sisters and I were little, we used to spend a couple of weeks each summer on a farm in Tenbury Wells owned by Mr and Mrs Maund. My eldest sister had been evacuated to the farm during WWII
The farm was called "The Waddings"
Mr and Mrs Maund had a son named Tommy who owned the adjacent farm...they also had a son named John who lived at home.
I have some very happy memories of the farm and the wonderful meals!..also of Tenbury Show.
Indi.....daydreaming!

Hi Gary....No sun this morning...just lots of heat...95F...maybe a thundrestorm later on!
No, I don't know Mr. and Mrs. Maund's name...although for some reason.....Bill sticks in my mind...I suppose they would be in their 60's in about 1953-54 ish...and the son Tommy was about 30 and the son John about 21-25 ish.
I think I have a photo of the farmhouse...but it's buried in the spare room with the rest of the photos and clobber....will try to find it.
The farm was actually at Newnham Bridge I think!
How funny...now I am remembering things that I haven't thought of in donkeys years....including the day that the horse bolted with me and "Our Angela" in the dray with all the fruit!...LOL
I will post that pic if I can find it, Cheers, Indi...ex Brum and lover of Hereford and Worcester.

I've got some Maunds but haven't done much on them yet.
George Maund (b. 1818, Holton, Herefordshire) married Ann (b. 1813, Neen Sollars, Shropshire).
They moved to Birmingham with their son, John (b. 1841, Neen Sollars) and had at least one more son, George (b. 1850, Birmingham).
John married Sarah Ann (b. 1836, Redditch) and I have found seven children - George, Eliza, John, Frederick, Emily, William and Francis.
William Maund (b. 1875, Birmingham) married Lydia Lewis (b. 1878, Birmingham). These are my husband's great-grandparents.
Do they tie in with the family you are researching?

Hi Gary
I have very little on this side of my husband's family so far. I've only been able to follow them through the census returns.
My m-i-l's mother was Beatrice Maund (b. 1898 Birmingham) who married Walter Hubbard (b. 1901 Birmingham). I've only found one sibling for Beatrice - Francis who was 7mths in the 1901 census. (I haven't got round to discussing the Maunds with m-i-l in detail yet).
I have information about William, Beatrice's father, and the families of two of his siblings, George and Emily.
William's parents were John and Sarah Ann and I think John's parent were George and Ann - from the 1851 census, but I can't find them in the later censuses.
Not a lot of information yet. I can pass the details on. I'd appreciate confirmation of what I have and perhaps some more bits to pass on to my m-i-l - but not too much information! The fun is in the hunt, after all!

Does anyone have any info of Arthur Clinton Maund? He was in Air Force in WW1. He spent a short time in Canada before WW1.
Thanks.
