It would be appreciated if somebody could check to see whether Sarah Ward was born in South Australia in around 1842. I believe her father would have been John Ward.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Abbyrose,
There is a Ward family arriving in Adelaide aboard the 'Isabella Watson' in 1845. Parents John age 33 and Martha age 27 Ward.Children 'Sarah' age 2 and Jane age (infant). Also travelling with them is William Ward age 29.

Also from the BISA.......John Ward b. c1812 and died 21/10/1853...bd. Alberton, S.A. Married:- Martha b. c1818 ...Children:- Sarah (c1843-), Jane (1845-)

Thanks heaps for this Magoo. This could very well be the right family, as nobody has been able to locate a birth for Sarah in about 1842 in South Australia. Now I just need to confirm whether Ann Maria Ward was born to John and Martha in South Australia in around 1849. If so, then we have a match. So far, nobody has been able to confirm a birth for Ann (or Anne) Maria Ward in South Australia at around this time. Are you able to check this for me at all? If so, it would be appreciated.

born 3.Jun 1849, North Adelaide
Parents Richard Ward & Elizabeth Fannam
Thats the only Ann Maria registered

Yes, I know of this birth. When I requested a copy of the birth certificate for Anne Maria Ward born in 1949, the certificate for this birth is what I received. Unfortunately, I don't think this is the right person, as Anne (or Ann) Maria's marriage certificate says her father's name was John.
