Hi Di

I'm not sure what your query is but in case you are looking for the parents of these two, I have found 2 baptisms in South Knapdale for an Andrew McFarlane:

26 Dec 1808, parents Malcolm McFarlane and Margaret Campbell

19 March 1812, parents Malcolm McFarlane andCatherine McFarlane

The children's names suggest that the first may be the most likely, Janet McNicol is somewhat more difficult to isolate as there are quite a few. Her father's name should be Nicol if the naming conventions were  loosely adhered to (given Malcolm was second), but I can't find one that fits  Sad

Hi Gadget,

Thanks for that info, I think you are right about Andrew's parents as for Janet, I know her mother was Anne Stewart and I found there was a marriage for Anne and Nicol McNicol 1 Aug 1814 Killin Perth Scotland. But Janet I couldn't find her.
I am going by her death record for Victoria Australia as to her birth date, I was hoping someone from the Scottish side had done this family, thanks for your help.

Hi Gadget,

Back again, I just looked at Janet's death notice and it says died: 6 Dec 1899 aged 86 years and 5 mos. So it's more like 1813 she was born.

I gave a broad age range on my  first search Wink but I'll recheck. There was no Nicol listed as father though. Perhaps I'll check under Stewart as she appears to have been born before her parent's marriage.

Hi Di

I've had another search.

I checked for a j* mcnicol/nicol/stewart and then with no initial bpt between 1810 and 1816. I can find no one that fits at all.

I'll  try with Nicol McNicol and Ann Stewart if you're sure they are her parents.

Two poss NicolMcNicols - but not sure  Undecided

21 September 1781 son of Nicol McNicol and Katherine Leich, Inverary  ?

BUT far more likely if she was born Strathfillan:

23 June 1790 son of Malcolm McNicol and Mary McIntyre, Glenorchy

There are a few too many Ann(e)s to check on though (none Killin or Glenorchy)   Sad
