When did he marry? Who to? did he have any children by 1871?

I don't see a George Holbrow born 1849 Clifton Bristol in the 1881 or 1891 censuses, please give full details.

have no idea as to parents.

all i have to go on is the george was born in 1849 clifton.

married sarah howell in  1871, bedminster.

children arthur  henry and lily.

seems strange how george disappeared from time of birth in 1849 and resurfaces in 1881 then goes to live in wales by 1891.

would love to know where he was between 1850 and 1880.

at the moment im trying varient of the holbrow name holborow

I can't find anything closer  Undecided (but for the record, this George seems to disappear after 1871)

I think you'd need the birth cert to be able to search for a family group.

Sept quarter 1849
Clifton
XI 288

PS I can't see a marriage for George Holbrow in December quarter 1871   Huh

There isn't a marriage for Sarah HOWELL(S) in 1871 either

Although there is a Sarah Jane in Bristol.

Do you have the marriage cert?

1861
Hill House Lodge, Mangotsfield, Gloucestershire
Tom Holbrow Head Wid 41 Groom Gloucester Burton
George Son 12 Labourer at Farm " Stapleton
Thomas Son 10                           " "
Joseph Son 8                               " "
Martha Hyde Boarder Un 37        " "
RG9/1699 Keynsham Oldland Folio 80 Page 11

Stapleton seems to be an area of the City of Bristol, could it be him?

However, I do agree that you need that marriage certificate to know the father's name.
