Hi Rootschatters
This might be one for Paul (smudger).
I am searching for the marriage of William Langley (born Uppingham Rutland 1779) to Elizabeth - surname unknown (born Haverhill Essex 1771). Most likely to have occurred before 1808. I am hoping the marriage was in Rutland.
Any assistance will be most appreciated

A big thank you Sandy,
It is indeed most promising. A 'google' search tells me that Cottingham is reasonably near Uppingham. A compelling clue is that a great grandson's first christian name was Freeman (the only occasion it has appeared in the line).
Can you please fill me in on "otp" - is it "of this parish"?
