Help me pretty please
« on: Sunday 25 June 06 22:51 UTC (UK) »

Hello all you lovely people

now a question?  I

have found records listed on LDS site
but are they records someone just puts there it says information added by unknown etc
or are they actully transcribed from church records?

I found birth details for WILLIAM PINNEGAR  28/4/1822 BROAD BLUNSDON  WILTSHIRE
and the the marriage of his parents
EMM PINNEGAR  AND WILLIAM TOWNSEND  22/10/1822

she had at least three kids to him before the marriage22/10/1822 at BroadBlunsden

my main question to you RC's  is will the record have any
more details ?
can i get a copy of it somewhere?

will it say if he was a widower or single?
will its say if there was any children to her?

I had a fair bit of trouble finding william jnr because he used the surname pinnegar in the 1851 census but then decided to use Townsend  I did wonder at this !  (his name was William Townsend Pinnegar)
I would appreciate any help you can offer

regards jenn

Attempt no 2 - Ahhhhhhhhh  - Where did RC go - or was it my computer  Huh

Hi Jenn

If the record includes this comment (or similar)
Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. No additional information is available. Ancestral File may list the same family and the submitter.    it is SUBMITTED and may/may not be valid. If they contain actual dates and parish details, the submitter may have seen the parish records, but you do not know this, so need to find more proof.

If it has this information
Extracted birth or christening record for the locality listed in the record. The source records are usually arranged chronologically by the birth or christening date  it has been EXTRACTED from a church register (or Bishop's transcript) and is a much more reliable source. It will also have a Film number associated with it and you can order these films into your local LDS office for viewing.

If you haven't been to your LDS centre - well worth a visit. You can find the closest by searching from the front page of  familysearch. They can explain all this for you.

Your baptism and marriage  are both SUBMITTED entries, so it would seem the extracted entries are not yet on the IGI. You can, however check to see if the LDS has film from your parish/town via family history catalogue search - and they appear to have parish registers 1680 - 1990, so if your man was C of E, you may find his baptism in a film at the LDS centre. (actually, appears to be fiche, not film).

Whether you will find any further information - has been discussed on other threads - I will try to find the links

Trish

(hope I get it posted this time)
