Hi . Have been researching Hephzibah Collyer b. abt 1825 in Ivinghoe and her sister Charlotte b. abt 1828 also in Ivinghoe. Struggling to find any information regarding parents. Found Hephzibah and Charlotte in the 1841 census living with two different families. Wondered if it might be possible for someone do a look up for me? New to this - would it be Parish Records? Any help would be much appreciated.

Lots of Collyers in Ivinghoe and Pitstone around this time I would need to check PR's in library. I am trying to get in on Wednesday so will have a look for you then if that is O.K?
Hi Tazzie, thanks for that, it would be very much appreciated. These two have been a bit of a mystery so far. I am assuming that they might have been orphaned, as the 1841 census does not indicate relationships it's difficult to work out what was going on and they are living apart with two different families. I suppose they could have been servants. Hephzibah married my g g grandfather George Allen in Cubblington 1849. They lived in Luton and had a daughter Catherine. I know Hephzibah died around 1851, not sure about Charlotte. I married a Collyer. His Collyer's originated from Musely, not too far from Ivinghoe and I wondered if there might be a connection somewhere along the line! I seem to have hit a brick wall though. I have been contacted by other's researching Geoge Allen, who know about Hephzibah but that is as far as they have been able to go too.
As mentioned before I am quite new to this. Searching census returns and the BMD Index has been fairly straight forward so far but once I hit 1837 I was not sure where to go from there. Are Parish Records accessable any other way than a visit to the library?
Hope to hear from you again.

I am in Milton Keynes and our library has a good family history section with film of Bucks PR's Some PR's can be brought on c.d I have Bucks marriages vol 1 from S&N genealogy. Bucks family history society will do look ups as well. If you are close enough they have a big family history day coming up with loads of records to search (I am on holiday this year).
Keep you fingers crossed on the year when I go some parishes are held in Aylesbury and have not all been sent out as copies.
Just back from the library....bit of a problem could not find a baptism there for either girls. There is a family of Collyer's at that time .The children are....
Edward bap 5 Aug 1821 Sarah bap Sept 1821 Thaisa bjune 27 bap july 30 1826 Mary Ann b april 14 bap july5 1829 Sarah bnov 9 bap 25 dec 1831 Joseph bap march 16 1836.
Parents George and Sarah in all cases.
Had a quick look in Mursley (before 2 year old woke up!) wow ...like rabbits 16 Collier births between 1821 & 1830. Most mothers called Elizabeth. So let me know if you want more on them. Didn't get chance to check Pitstone for the girls but that could be a possible.
Thanks for your help Tazzie. I've just ordered a copy of Hephzibah & George Allen's marriage certificate, hopefully I can get her father's name from that. Who know's, might be lucky and it will match with the info you've found. Fingers crossed, thanks again.
