Jane Mccluskey born 1846 newtown Carlisle Cumberland
she married John Shaw in Haltwhistle Northumberland in 1865

Ann Do., Wife, 32, b. Cumberland, Carlisle
Mary Do., Dau, 11, b. Cumberland, Carlisle
Hugh Do., Son, 8, b. Cumberland, Carlisle
Amy Do., Dau, 5, b. Cumberland, Carlisle
Jane Do., Dau, 3, b. Cumberland, Wigton
Henry Do., Son, 11 mths, b. Cumberland, Carlisle

Could this be who you're looking for? The age is a year or two out and Jane was the only child not born in Carlisle.

Hi again,

I also found the family I posted earlier, in 1861 living in Packhorse Lane, St Cutherbert's Within, English Street, Carlisle.

Daughter Mary is no linger there but there are 3 more children younger than Henry. Jane's birthplace is now Carlisle and the surname is spelt McCLOSKEY.

Let me know if this is the family you're looking for, I'll post the rest of the details.

that looks like her Jane called her first son John James and her daughter Mary Ann so the names would fit I only found her name yesterday if you wouldn't mind posting the outher one you found Jane married in 1865

I have now found them in
Main Street Haltwhistle in 1861
William Mclusky age 33 born Ireland [tinsmith]
Mary McClusky age 30 " "
Jane McClusky age 12.born Edington ?Cumberland
John McClusky age 10 born Sisingby ?Cumberland
James McClusky age 7 born Carlisle
Jane Keenan age 62 mother in law born Ireland
so in 1851 they were in either Edington /Sisingby Cumberland

I wonder could you have a look at this and would you believe they are living in a tent how on earth did they get onto the census I always thought you had to live in a house to fill a census form. The 1861 is the right family what I need to know is the 1851 the same family
