Hi
May I please burst in on your thread and ask what the following relationship would be:
My gt grandfathers youngest brothers daughter to myself.
Hi Roz 43, would your Rooney's have any connection to my 3 x gr grandparents James and Elizabeth Rooney (nee Taylor) who lived in Egremont in the late 1850's. He was an iron ore miner and I believe they came over from Ireland between 1854-56 with their daughters Lotitia and Rosannah.
Thanks again

I don't think so Half pint. I don't know if you remember, but we had a chat about Florence Mine a while ago. I still haven't been. Remember you told me about John Rooney being mentioned there? Well now I'm off work for the school hols, Im going to make a point of going.
I've been back over the family tree tonight, and can't make a connection, but you never know. I can only get as far back as the 1881 census. John Rooney and Catherine lived in Workington, then moved to Cleator. One of their daughters was born in 1867 in Ireland, so they didn't move over here until after that.
Best wishes
Rosemary
