Hi is anyone researching this name?
I have found him on the 1881 aged 42 but cannot find him on any other census.
Can anyone help?

Where was he in 1881?
There are only 5 Bolitho that I could find, all 'unknown'
1 in 1851 in Cornwall
1 in 1901 in Cornwall
and 3in the Cornwall baptism entries from 1631 - 1742.

Hi Cougar
It seems he goes by the name of Edward and Edmund. I have now managed to trace him back as far as 1871 when he was living in 7 Herbert Bldgs Southwark aged 34 his birthplace being listed as Lambeth.

What I really need to do now is find either his baptism or an entry for him in the 1851 or 1861 census.

Finally found Herbert Buildings which the master index said didn't exist.
Got to No 7 and would you believe the entry is
.......Ballard
.......Ballard
other 6 occupants NOT KNOWN - no information at all.
Looked at the rest of Herbert Buildings but didn't find him - couple of areas where tenants not known.
Sorry I couldn't help

Sorry - should have told you that was for 1851 - he is not on my index for 1861 but then that is only a partial index - you might have to repost under 1861 and see if someone else can find it for you,

It seems like this could be him as his name is listed as either Edmond or Edward.

As I am helping a friend with this family I will pass the details on to her and maybe she will order the certificate.
